Lázaro Valdés Espinoza is considered to be one of the Greats of Latin Jazz music in Cuba and as a consequence all over the world. He has performed in almost all events at a National and International level.

Lázaro Valdés has also performed in musical reunions of high standing such as: Plaza Matadero in Rome (Italy), concerts in almost all of the Caribbean islands, and also imparting lessons and conferences. He was also the Musical Director of the famous Parisien of the well known Hotel Nacional de Cuba, as well as tours of Thailand, Russia, Latin America and Japan. He has been decorated as an Honourable Guest by the Ricardo Palma University (Peru).

Lázaro hails from a family of prestigious musicians. He graduated as a higher education Piano Professor, studied Sol-fa, theory and piano at the San Digno Valdés conservatory in Marianao since the age of 3.

Since its creation the “Habana Latin Jazz” Quintet has reaped enormous success, having toured almost all over the world demonstrating the skills of each and every one of the band members, but above all, the great quality of its Director, Lázaro Valdés, “The One and Only”.
